FULL TIME: Tottenham Hotspur 2-1 Southampton
It's defeat for Saints on their first visit to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, ending a run of four successive away wins without conceding a goal. The damage was done in the first half, when all three goals were scored, including a bizarre equaliser for Danny Ings. The first-half dismissal of Serge Aurier meant Saints dominated much of the second period, but couldn't quite do enough to earn a point.

COME ON LADS!!!
Armstrong denied by Lloris
First involvement for the substitute, who steps inside and lets fly, but Lloris gets down smartly to make the save.
Just wide from Kane
The striker gets the better of Bednarek and drills a low shot just beyond the far upright. Spurs cannot breathe a sigh of relief just yet.
Yellow Card for Jan Bednarek (Southampton)
Bednarek is next to be carded for bringing down Kane, who is happy to stay down and eat up a few more seconds.
Lloris holds Bertrand's shot
Saints continue to press, but again Lloris is there, showing excellent handling to keep hold of Bertrand's daisy-cutter with bodies running in on it.
Ings goes close!
Patient play from Saints before Boufal turns inside and crosses brilliantly, but the ball just bounces away from Ings, who threw himself at it to no avail.
Yellow Card for Maya Yoshida (Southampton)
Ironic cheers ring around the stadium as Yoshida goes into the book - the natives feel that card has been coming for some time.
Boufal's cross held by Lloris
The Moroccan was looking for Ings, but the ball skips up off the turf untouched and is destined for the far corner until Lloris dives on it.
Kane goes close
This game continues to excite, as Rose whips in a superb cross from the left that's just beyond the reach of the stretching Kane.
Another Lloris save!
Remarkable reflexes from the Tottenham keeper, who was clearly at fault earlier in the game but is fast making up for it. This time Yoshida meets Ward-Prowse's corner with a thumping header, but the Frenchman somehow claws it away, high to his left.
Excellent pressure from Saints! 💪
If this is a sign of things to come, it could be a long second half for Spurs. Saints are camped in their half at the moment, but just missing the final ball to open up the hosts.
Brilliantly saved by Lloris 😩
A beauty of a strike by Ward-Prowse, who eyed up the top corner and hit it perfectly, but Lloris was there to fly across his goal and help it over with his fingertips.
Boufal tripped by Son...
It's a long way out, but is this Ward-Prowse territory? He's done it before against Spurs...
Vestergaard gets back at Kane
Roars from the home crowd as Kane races into the box, but the big Dane is there, initially just holding him up, before timing his tackle and emerging with possession.
Positive play from Bertrand
The wing-back plays a neat one-two with Ings and delivers a low cross. Redmond leaves it, but nobody is on hand to follow it in at the far post.
The second half is under way
We're back up and running at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
HALF TIME: Tottenham Hotspur 2-1 Southampton
A crazy first half comes to an end at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Spurs took a 24th minute lead through Tanguy Ndombele, but had Serge Aurier dismissed for two yellow cards soon after. Danny Ings then levelled the scores in bizarre fashion, capitalising on a Hugo Lloris mistake, but Harry Kane's goal three minutes before the interval has the depleted hosts back in command.
3️⃣ added minutes
We're into stoppage time at the end of a frantic first half.
Spurs back in front
The deadlock did not last long, as Son races forward and combines with Eriksen, who prods the ball into the path of Kane. The England star does the rest and Spurs have their lead back.
GOAL
Harry Kane (42’) | 2 – 1

It's 1-1!
What a bizarre equaliser! Lloris is far too casual as he tries to Cruyff turn away from Ings, virtually on his own goal-line. The striker reads his intentions and gets a foot in, which is all that's needed to turn the ball into the net. Crazy stuff!
GOOOAL!!!
Danny Ings (39’) | 1 – 1
Redmond shoots wide
The winger combines with Boufal and tries to curl one around Alderweireld, but cannot get enough bend on it to hit the target.
Kane looks to catch out Gunn
Romeu is robbed in midfield and the ball rolls kindly to Kane. Still in the centre circle, the striker takes the ball first time in his stride with an ambitious lob that has Gunn back-pedalling and relieved to see it clear his crossbar.
Højbjerg drills one over
Saints look to rub salt in Spurs wounds from the free-kick, as the ball is cleared only to Højbjerg, who connects sweetly but sends a powerful strike rising just over. The hosts are aggrieved because they felt the ball went out of play in the build-up to the red card...
Red Card for Serge Aurier (Tottenham Hotspur)
It's a second yellow for Aurier! He brings down Bertrand as the wing-back gets in behind him down the Saints left. How much will this change things?
Yellow Card for Serge Aurier (Tottenham Hotspur)
Aurier goes right through the book of Boufal for a clear booking.
This time Ndombele makes no mistake
Again Son is the architect, attracting two defenders before laying the ball off for Ndombele to strike it cleanly and right through Gunn - the shot just had too much power behind it.
GOAL
Tanguy Ndombele (23’) | 1 – 0

Ndombele fires over
Son is the main danger for Spurs. Again he gets away down the left - where the injured Cédric would've been - and picks out Ndombele with a neat cutback. The Frenchman's shot is deflected over, before Gunn saves Son's header from the resulting corner.
Another threatening Saints counter...
Boufal releases Redmond early, who runs at the Spurs defence and tries to work a shooting position near the left corner of the box, but his eventual effort is blocked
Kane loses his footing
That was a let-off. Eriksen's floated free-kick flicks up into the air off a defensive head and appears to be dropping perfectly for Kane, but the England captain slips at the vital moment as he prepares to meet it on the volley, and Saints survive.
Boufal tests Lloris
Lovely footwork from Boufal, who wriggles away from Winks and space opens up for a shot. He strikes it well enough from distance, but it's an easy save for Lloris.
Bednarek heads behind
First proper glimpse of Kane, whose teasing cross requires emergency action from Bednarek. That could've been an own goal, but the defender does well to clear Gunn's crossbar before Saints deal with the corner.
Gunn pounces in front of Kane
Son finds himself in that inside-left position again, collecting another lofted pass from the right, but his attempted first-time ball across goal is seized upon by Gunn before Kane can score.
Lloris denies Højbjerg!
More positive play from Saints. Redmond surges towards the box and picks out Højbjerg, whose sweeping shot from just inside the box is pushed behind by Lloris.
Bednarek halts Son
First opening for Spurs, as Alderweireld's raking diagonal is taken in his stride by Son, but Bednarek gets back at him and slides in with a trademark tackle.
Saints get in again...
This has been a really positive start. Ward-Prowse threads a ball down the line for Redmond, who beats Rose and cuts the ball back for Boufal, but it's just intercepted in front of the Moroccan. From the second phase of play, a Boufal cross is easily caught by Lloris.
Ings shoots over
A half-chance for the man with the derby day double. Racing in behind the Spurs defence, he attempts an audacious lob over Lloris, but the ball never threatens to come down in time to hit the target.
Yoshida heads over
First chance is a Saints chance. Bertrand swings in a free-kick from the left and Yoshida climbs highest, but his header flies over the top and into the giant single-tiered stand behind Lloris's goal.
The hosts get us under way...
We're up and running. Come on you Saints!
🚨 LATE CHANGE 🚨
Saints have been dealt a setback, with Cédric suffering an injury in the warm-up. Jannik Vestergaard steps up from the bench to replace him, meaning Ralph Hasenhüttl starts the game with six substitutes.
