FULL TIME: Norwich 2-1 Southampton

It's all over at Carrow Road, where Saints will be ruing their first-half dominance. Norwich were much-improved after the break, edging in front through Grant Hanley 11 minutes from time. Theo Walcott might have equalised deep into stoppage time, but he headed wide and Saints hopes of a point were extinguished.

+3’

Yellow Card for Mathias Normann (Norwich City)

Another yellow card sees Saints win a free-kick near the left corner of the box, This could be last chance saloon.

+3’

Yellow Card for Tim Krul (Norwich City)

The keeper goes into the book for time wasting. Norwich are hanging on.

+3’

Walcott heads wide

That was a golden chance. Ward-Prowse whips in a brilliant cross, but Walcott's downward header is off target from eight yards.

90’

4️⃣ added minutes...

Still plenty of time for Saints to find an equaliser.

89’

Norwich City substitution: Christos Tzolis replaces Milot Rashica

Final change for the home team as stoppage time approaches.

88’

Krul makes comfortable save

Armstrong turns neatly away from his man, but his left-footed shot does not trouble Krul.

87’

Saints pushing hard...

It's three corners in quick succession for the visitors, but Norwich are standing up to the onslaught so far.

85’

Norwich City substitution: Lukas Rupp replaces Billy Gilmour

Norwich make the change with Ward-Prowse preparing to deliver a corner.

84’

Krul claims

Ward-Prowse chips the ball into the box, but Krul is out to make the catch, which is greeted by huge cheers from the home fans. They sense a first home win of the season is within their grasp.

Norwich take the lead

Hanley gets his head to a far-post corner and the ball bounces beyond McCarthy's dive to find the net.

76’

McCarthy denies Pukki

Pukki's shot takes a touch off Bednarek that makes the save an even tougher one for McCarthy, who stretches out a hand to thwart the striker at his near post.

73’

Southampton substitution: Lyanco replaces Oriol Romeu

Saints will play the remaining minutes with a back three. Diallo has dropped into midfield.

71’

Yellow Card for Kyle Walker-Peters (Southampton)

Walker-Peters pulls down Sargent to prevent a counter-attack and goes into the book.

70’

Romeu's shot deflects wide

Patient play from Saints on the edge of the Norwich box results in a sight of goal for Romeu, whose shot is deflected behind for a corner.

67’

Normann tries his luck

It's a driven shot that flies wide from distance. Not a million miles away, but McCarthy knew it was off target.

63’

Yellow Card for Brandon Williams (Norwich City)

The full-back goes into the book for catching Livramento with a flailing arm.

61’

Southampton substitution: Theo Walcott replaces Ché Adams

The goalscorer makes way. Walcott has initially gone up front, with Armstrong still on the left.

59’

Gibson heads over

McCarthy comes for a corner, doesn't get there, and Gibson heads over. Norwich are a different team now.

57’

Southampton substitution: Armando Broja replaces Mohamed Elyounoussi

Broja comes on to join the Saints frontline. It looks as if he'll partner Adams, with Armstrong moving out to the left.

54’

Norwich on top

For the first time in the game, Norwich are the team in the ascendancy. Adams is caught in possession and Sargent's shot is deflected behind, but the resulting corner is too long to trouble Saints.

53’

Rashica tests McCarthy

Norwich have started the second half with much more intent. Rashica spins on the edge of the box and fires a low shot comfortably saved by McCarthy, but it gets the crowd into it.

52’

Romeu's cross causes problems

The midfielder floats one in towards Adams, who jumps with Krul. The ball comes off the fist of the keeper and behind for what should be a corner, but goal kick is the verdict.

49’

Norwich City substitution: Joshua Sargent replaces Todd Cantwell

Sargent has been introduced and joined the Norwich attack.

46’

The second half is under way...

We're back into the action. Come on you Saints!

HALF TIME: Norwich 1-1 Southampton

Saints will be frustrated they haven't turned Ché Adams's early goal into a half-time lead after dominating the first period at Carrow Road. The striker's neat finish was instantly cancelled out by Teemu Pukki's equaliser. Since then, Saints have been in total control without carving out enough glaring chances to score. Keeper Tim Krul denied Adams from the best of them with a spectacular stop.

43’

Brilliant save from Krul

Wow. Diallo robs Hanley and feeds Adams, who reverses a shot back across Krul that looks certain to find the net, but the Dutchman sticks out a big right hand to repel the danger and somehow keep his team on level terms.

41’

Ward-Prowse fires wide

The only criticism of a dominant first half from Saints can be that they haven't created even better chances. Ward-Prowse drills a shot off target from range, but it's a half-chance at best. Saints need to find ways in behind this brittle Norwich defence.

35’

Saints still pushing

Norwich have just enjoyed their best spell of possession to date, but there's nothing at the end of it and Saints are back on the attack. Elyounoussi's cross is headed back across goal by Livramento, Norwich clear, then Salisu tries his luck from 25 yards with a decent strike that's too close to Krul.

27’

Elyounoussi volleys wide

The ball drops kindly for the Norwegian 20 yards out, but he doesn't catch it cleanly and it bounces harmlessly wide.

26’

Gilmour escapes a booking

Saints were looking to launch a counter-attack through Ward-Prowse, who is dragged down by Gilmour. The Scot escapes a card not once but twice, as Ward-Prowse plays a quick free-kick against him but the referee signals the ball was moving before it was taken.

24’

Livramento threatens

Most of Saints' play has been down the left so far, but the ball is switched out to Livramento on the right, who delivers a dangerous cross that just has too much on it to find a teammate.

21’

Armstrong goes for goal

Saints are continuing to pile forward. This time Armstrong drives a low shot that's deflected wide. Ward-Prowse is serenaded by the travelling fans as he prepares to deliver, but it does not quite reach Elyounoussi.

19’

Diallo takes a tumble

Walker-Peters whips in a cross from the left towards Diallo at the far post, who takes a nudge in the back from Cantwell, but again the referee does not deem the contact sufficient to punish the Norwich man. Then Walker-Peters is tripped - no foul given.

17’

Adams goes down...

The 2,500 travelling Saints fans are making plenty of noise here, not least when Adams goes down under a challenge in the box. The fans appeal loudly and the striker glances in the direction of the referee, but there's not much of an appeal.

15’

Good response from Saints

The equaliser has not deflated the visitors, who are back on the attack. Ward-Prowse drops a shoulder to find space on the edge of the box and drills a left-footed shot but it's straight at Krul. Then Walker-Peters hits a rocket that's blocked. This is wide open.

Pukki equalises

Saints are furious with this. Walker-Peters looked to have been fouled near the halfway line, before Norwich countered and exploited the space down his side through Aarons, whose cross was headed home by Pukki at the near post.

Another goal for Ché as Saints strike first!

After two goals for his country over the international break, the Scottish international is on target again! Combining with strike partner Armstrong, his quick feet engineers the chance, which was finished with a calm finish that kissed the inside of the post on its way in. What a start!

One change for Saints...

It's a fourth league start of the season for Ibrahima Diallo, who comes in for Stuart Armstrong. Armstrong and Redmond are absent from the matchday squad, so it looks like the Frenchman may have quite an advanced starting position.
