Adams reclaimed the lead for Saints on 34 minutes, before James Maddison equalised early into the second half. A draw, in the end, a fair result.

Saints deservedly ahead at the break. Jan Bednarek tapped the opener in after three minutes following a clever set-piece, before Jonny Evans equalised on 22 minutes. Saints enjoyed more of the action from then on in, taking the lead again through Ché Adams' diving header. Picked out brilliantly by a Nathan Redmond cross.
