A good opportunity for Wolves in the early stages of this second half. Moutinho plays the corner short and Hwang releases a shot, there's a bit of a fumble in the box but eventually the ball is cleared.
Saints can't execute the finish
Another scramble in the penalty area as Adams and Armstrong bounce the ball around, it then finds the feet of Ward-Prowse but he takes one touch too many and Sa regains control of the ball.

It's all square at half-time in SO14 but Saints have definitely had the better of the chances so far. A surge from Saints in the final 15 minutes of the half saw a number of opportunities towards goal, including Nathan Redmond's offside effort finding the back of the net. A big 45 minutes ahead as Saints will be looking to keep the momentum from an energetic first half.

First bit of action from Wolves in a while as they're awarded a corner but it's easily cleared by Bednarek.

Saints continue to pile on the pressure, Adams fires the ball goalwards but Sa gets it away.

Redmond lands the ball into the back of the net but the celebrations were short lived with the flag going up almost instantly.

Saints have been pretty solid in defence in recent weeks but there's been a few slip ups already here at St Mary's, this time it's Oriol Romeu who gives away possession.

A rare slip up from Kyle Walker-Peters sees Wolves in possession inside the penalty area and just inches away from the net but Podence fails to monopolise on the opportunity.

A nice bit of skill on display from Redmond who gets the better of Semedo but his cross in bounces wide of the post.
Wolves push forward
First real action from Daniel Podence who releases the ball into the box. It fails to meet one of his teammates, falling straight into the hands of McCarthy.
Elyounoussi's had an electric start here at St Mary's, he finds himself in space as he crosses the ball into Ché Adams who can't quite release the shot. Adam Armstrong's there to recover the ball but it amounts to nothing. Eventually the offside flag goes up but it has been a really promising start for Saints.
