Ban-Free Morgan Ready For Arsenal

Morgan Schneiderlin is off the disciplinary tightrope and eagerly looking ahead to tomorrow's visit of Arsenal.

The midfielder picked up his fourth booking of the campaign back in early November, meaning he would face a one-match ban if he was cautioned again before the end of 2012.

But, having come through eight games without being carded, Schneiderlin will no longer be suspended if he is handed a fifth yellow card from this point onwards.

"It's a relief to be past the Stoke game," the Frenchman told saintsfc.co.uk after his team rounded off 2012 with a thrilling draw at the Britannia Stadium.

"I think I was a bit unlucky with my bookings since the start of the season because I didn't deserve all of them, but I haven't changed my game because of the bookings – and I've still been putting challenges in when I've had to.

"It's good to be past the cut-off and I'm very happy to be part of the squad to face Arsenal."

Schneiderlin was in the side that was beaten 6-1 by the Gunners in mid-September, and admits that game is now a distant memory.

And the 23 year-old is hoping to show tomorrow's opponents just how much he and his teammates have improved over the past few months.

"We completely forgot about that game 24 hours later," he insisted. "It's helped us to be mentally stronger because that was a tough day – everything they did was perfect.

"We want to bounce back and show them that it was just a mistake from us and show what we can really do.

"Hopefully we can win the game, because winning games at home will help us survive in this league.

"We know that they will play good football and everyone wants to play against them, so it's up to us to play better football than them – and to win."
