Getting there by car
Distance from St Mary’s: 147.8 miles
The Hawthorns can be found around half a mile from Junction 1 on the M5, and is easy for visiting supporters to get to. Leave the M5 at Junction 1 and take the A41 towards Birmingham. The ground will be on the right-hand side.
Car Parking
The best bet for securing a space near the ground on a matchday is to find a spot on the streets in the surrounding area. Failing that, there are a number of private car parks in operation nearby, and it is also possible to park at Hawthorns station, though that would incur a cost of £4.
Getting there by train
The nearest station to the ground is Hawthorns station, which is served by trains from Birmingham New Street. To get there, take a train from New Street to Smethwick Galton Bridge and then change to head to the Hawthorns. It is also possible to get a train to the Hawthorns from Birmingham Moor Street, or a metro to the same destination from Birmingham Snow Hill. Once at Hawthorns station, it is only a five-minute walk to the stadium.
Inside the ground
Alcohol is available inside the stadium, with Carlsberg, Tetleys, Bathams Bitter and Somerset Cider all on offer along with red or white wine and a selection of spirit miniatures. The food available inside the ground includes burgers, pies, sausage rolls and pasties, with pies priced at £3 and a cup of tea £2. A programme at the Hawthorns is £3.
