By SFC Media time Fri 26 Jun Club

Southampton’s second pre-season friendly in Holland is against KVV Quick 1920, who Ronald Koeman’s side face on Tuesday 21st July, kick-off 6pm BST.

Saints, who go up against FC Groningen three days previous and Feyenoord two days later, will take on the Dutch side at the Sportpark Vondersweijde.

The club, founded in 1920, currently plays in the Hoofdklasse, the second-highest tier of amateur football in the Netherlands and the fourth tier overall.

Quick, managed by Rob Snijders, finished fourth in the Hoodfklasse Sunday C, ending the campaign with just two defeats in their final eight games of the 2014/15 season.

In 2012 the club suffered relegation from the Topklasse and have spent the last three seasons looking for promotion back to the third tier of Dutch football.

The last time they won promotion was in 2010, with their last silverware coming in 1998 when they won the East District Cup. In 1993, Quick won the Hoodfklasse.

They also won the second amateur level title in 1977 and 1990, while they won the first amateur level title in 1964 and 1966.

Quick ’20 have had some famous faces begin their careers with the club. The most high profile of those is Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink, who went on to make 19 appearances for the Netherlands and had a spell in England with Hull City.

Derk Boerrigter also came through the club’s youth system before going on to play for Ajax. He is currently with Scottish champions Celtic.

Quick’s stadium, the Sportpark Vondersweijde, holds 6,400, with Saints set to visit on Tuesday 21st July as they continue their preparations for the 2015/16 campaign.
