Long included in Republic of Ireland squad

Shane Long has been named in the latest Republic of Ireland squad for their upcoming qualifiers in September.

Long has been included in the 28-man squad for UEFA EURO 2016 qualifiers against Gibraltar and Georgia.

The first Group D qualifier against Gibraltar in Faro, Portugal takes place on Friday 4th September (kick-off: 7.45pm BST).

Martin O’Neill’s men will then welcome Georgia to the Aviva Stadium on Monday 7th September, with the game getting under way at 7.45pm BST.

Ireland currently sit fourth in the table, with four games left to play, two points behind Scotland in third and five off Poland who top the group at this stage.
