Gastón Ramírez will spend the remainder of the season on loan with Middlesbrough, Southampton Football Club can confirm.
The Uruguayan joins the Sky Bet Championship side until the summer, when his contract with Saints is due to expire.
Executive Director of Football Les Reed said: “We would like to wish Gastón all the best at Middlesbrough and with the opportunity to play regular first-team football for a club that is pushing for promotion to the Premier League.”
Ramírez has made 55 appearances for Southampton since joining from Bologna in the summer of 2012, scoring eight goals. He spent much of the 2014/15 season on loan at Hull City.
