Southampton Football Club will be hosting a charity night in support of Saints Foundation and the club’s International Charity Partner Mary’s Meals.

The special event, in recognition of the work both charities do, will take place at St Mary’s Stadium in the Markus Liebherr Lounge on Wednesday 9th March, starting at 7pm GMT.

Guests will have the opportunity to see a world premiere of Generation Hope, a new short film that raises awareness of Mary’s Meals’ work, while also learning more about Saints Foundation’s work in the community throughout the evening.

Southampton owner Katharina Liebherr and chairman Ralph Krueger will both be in attendance on the night to show their support for the work of both charities.

Mary’s Meals founder and CEO Magnus MacFarlane-Barrow will be on hand to discuss the partnership, as well as the work the charity will carry out in 2016.

MacFarlane-Barrow said: “We’re so grateful to Southampton Football Club and the Saints Foundation for this support, which will allow more children to receive a nutritious daily meal in their place of education.

“By screening a premiere of Generation Hope at their event, the club is inviting guests to witness first-hand the difference that these daily meals have made to real children and be inspired by the adults they have become.”

On the night, 2012 MasterChef winner Shelina Permalloo, a Saints Foundation ambassador, will be preparing an authentic and traditional three-course meal for guests.

There will be a chance to win a tour of the training ground with Les Reed, as well as an auction with the opportunity to purchase a variety of items and experiences including a tour of St Mary’s Stadium with a Saints player, a round of golf with Matthew Le Tissier and signed merchandise.

Greg Baker, Head of Saints Foundation and Community Partnerships, said: “We are looking forward to welcoming guests to join us for what promises to be a fantastic night, celebrating the club’s commitment to support people in need both at home and abroad.

“Guests will learn about the work of the Saints Foundation in the local community and will also be introduced to an amazing and inspiring charity in Mary’s Meals, who are changing the lives of children across the world.”

Mary’s Meals currently feeds over one million children worldwide, with a £12.20 donation enough to feed a child for a whole school year.

Tickets for the event, priced at £112.20, are on sale now can be purchased by calling Saints Foundation on +44 2380 711967. Proceeds from the event will be split equally between Mary’s Meals and Saints Foundation.
