Academy goalkeeper Adam Parkes has been added to England Under-17s’ squad for the Algarve Tournament.

The 16 year-old will join up with Steve Cooper’s squad at St George’s Park ahead of their departure for the Algarve, where they will face Germany, the Netherlands and hosts Portugal.

Parkes is a regular for Saints’ under-16 side, and has been on the bench for Craig Fleming’s under-18s on several occasions this season.

He follows in the footsteps of the likes of James Ward-Prowse, Luke Shaw, Calum Chambers, Ryan Seager and Josh Sims in travelling to the tournament with England.
