Get the lowdown ahead of Southampton's Barclays Premier League clash with Chelsea at St Mary's on Saturday.

Southampton welcome reigning Barclays Premier League champions Chelsea to St Mary’s on Saturday looking to extend their unbeaten run to seven games.

Ronald Koeman’s side have not lost in the league since a 1-0 defeat away to Norwich City in their opening game of 2016, and have won five of the six games since then.

Fraser Forster’s return has inspired Saints to keep six clean sheets in a row meaning Koeman’s side can equal a club record of seven consecutive top flight clean sheets with a shutout against Chelsea on Saturday.

Forster himself can become a Southampton record holder if he keeps Chelsea at bay until at least the 35th minute, meaning he will have gone 667 minutes without conceding a goal.

Visitors Chelsea head into the game on the back of an unbeaten league run of their own since Guus Hiddink’s arrival at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues have not lost since a 2-1 defeat away to Leicester City in mid-December – a run that has that has now stretched to ten games.

Last time out, Saints produced a memorable performance at Stamford Bridge to beat the reigning champions 3-1. Steven Davis, Sadio Mané and Graziano Pellè grabbed the goals.

Ronald Koeman will be without the suspended Victor Wanyama, while Jay Rodriguez and Florin Gardos won’t be available despite returning to training this week.

Kurt Zouma and striker Radamel Falcao will both be missing for Guus Hiddink’s side, while John Terry remains a doubt for the Blues' trip to St Mary's.

Despite it being a tough season for the reigning Barclays Premier League champions, Brazilian Willian has looked a class act throughout.

The 27 year-old has already featured 37 times for Chelsea this season, scoring some excellent goals along the way – including one against Saints earlier in the campaign.

Willian has scored ten goals in total for the Blues so far this season, grabbing one in their Emirates FA Cup win against Manchester City last weekend.

Fraser Forster will be looking to beat Paul Jones’s top-flight record of 666 minutes without conceding on Saturday. The goalkeeper needs to keep Chelsea at bay until the 35th minute.

Southampton can equal their top-flight record of seven consecutive clean sheets with out shutout against Chelsea on Saturday.

Saints will need to keep their first clean sheet in 12 games against Chelsea if they are to equal their clean sheet record.

Chelsea have won four and lost just one of their seven Barclays Premier League visits to St Mary’s.

The last time Southampton enjoyed a league double against Chelsea was during the 1987/88 season. Saints beat the Blues 3-0 at The Dell before sealing a 1-0 victory away from home.
