We’ve picked four nominees, now it’s up to you to decide who wins Southampton’s Player of the Month award for March!
After scoring twice in the win against Stoke City at the Britannia Stadium, and once in the remarkable 3-2 comeback win against Liverpool, striker Graziano Pellè is the first man nominated.
The Italian, who won the award back in September, was influential in helping Ronald Koeman’s side to wins against two of their rivals for a European spot this season.
Also nominated is defender Virgil van Dijk, another who has won the award already this season following his excellent displays during the month of October.
The Dutchman scored a crucial equaliser in the 1-1 draw with Sunderland at St Mary’s, while he was at his best to prevent Stoke City from equalising during a tough second half for Saints at the Britannia Stadium.
Captain on that afternoon was Steven Davis, and he’s the third man up for the March award. Another previous winner, the Northern Ireland international was excellent in the wins against Stoke City and Liverpool.
The final nominee is midfielder Oriol Romeu. In the absence of Victor Wanyama through suspension, Romeu started all four of Saints’ matches during the month of March and was to key to helping Koeman’s side earn a point at home to Sunderland and beat Stoke City on the road.
Voting for the award closes at midday on Thursday 31st March, with the winner announced to Season Ticket holders and Official Members first in the next official email newsletter.
