Wanyama on target in Tanzania draw

By SFC Media time Sun 29 May Club

Victor Wanyama scored from the penalty spot to rescue a point for Kenya who drew 1-1 in a friendly match with Tanzania at the Kasarani Stadium on Sunday.

The Southampton midfielder and Harambee Stars’ captain converted from 12 yards for the third international goal of his career.

Tanzania struck first in the 34th minute of the game, when Elias Maguli headed the visitors in front.

However, Wanyama levelled from the spot just five minutes later to level the scores, after Ayub Timbe had been brought down inside the area.

Wanyama’s Kenya face Sudan in another warm-up match on Tuesday evening, before playing Congo in their next qualifier for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations.
