Charlie Austin says Southampton’s work ahead of the new season is far from finished, despite the team having won all four of their friendly matches so far.
Saints were victorious in all three of their games on the pre-season tour to Holland, beating PEC Zwolle, FC Twente and FC Groningen, while they also triumphed over DC United Under-23s during their training camp in America.
Austin, who scored in yesterday's 1-0 win over Groningen, as well as the 4-0 success against PEC Zwolle, explained that, while the players were satisfied with the trip to the Netherlands, they believe further improvements can be made in the upcoming friendlies against Espanyol and Athletic Club.
“We've won the last game of the pre-season trip to Holland, so it's delightful, but we've still got two good games coming before the season starts, so we've still got work to do,” Austin told youtube.com/southamptonfc.
“We've got two weeks to go and we've still got finishing touches to be put on before the Watford game. We know what we've got to do before then, and the hard work's still going on.”
