Southampton forward Shane Long played the first half of Republic of Ireland's 4-0 victory over Oman, in Dublin.
The Irish welcomed Oman to Aviva Stadium on what was an emotional night, as talismanic striker Robbie Keane made his final appearance for the team.
Long started the match, along with Keane, and helped Ireland race into a 3-0 lead by half-time.
Robbie Brady set them on the way in the early stages, before Keane got the goal that the crowd craved and Jon Walters then added another.
Long was removed at the break for James McClean, with Ireland adding a fourth midway through the second half, as Walters bagged his second of the night.
Up next for Long and Ireland is their opening World Cup qualifier, away to Serbia, on Monday 5th September (7.45pm BST), which could see the Saints man come up against his club teammate, Dušan Tadić.
