Oriol Romeu says he can’t wait to get back to St Mary’s this weekend.
Southampton have not played a home fixture in almost two months, but will return to action on their own turf when they host Bournemouth on Saturday.
It has been a long wait for the fans, but also for the players.
“It’s been a while since out last home game and the chance to play in front of our fans,” said Romeu. “We feel more comfortable playing at home in St Mary’s.”

After just two games in March, this weekend’s match will kick off a run that sees Saints play six times in April.
“This month we haven’t played as much as we wanted,” Romeu told the Daily Echo. “Next month is going to be very busy with many games now and we need to be mentally ready.
“If we want to climb the table, we need to win these games, especially at home with our fans. We have played well recently so we need to keep that up. Hopefully we can start building a good run for the end of the season.
“We want to get as high as possible. When you look at the past, you check which position you finished. It is very different to finish 11th or 12th rather than seventh or eighth. We want to get this club in a good position.”
