Cédric is keen to see a swift response following Southampton’s stalemate with Hull City at St Mary’s.
A trip to Anfield is next up for Saints on Sunday, and the Portuguese knows the importance of returning to winning ways.
“We need to react immediately to get better,” he explained.
“Our fans deserve more. I think the second half was better in terms of intensity from us and we created more chances.
“But still we need to play better and control the game much better, especially at home in front of our fans.”
Dušan Tadić had the opportunity to seal all three points from the spot in the dying seconds against Hull, but saw his spot-kick saved by Eldin Jakupović.
Though Cédric is not attaching any blame to his Serbian teammate.
“Sometimes that happens with a penalty,” he continued.
“You can score or you can miss, but I think we were not at our strongest today and should have had chances before to score.
“There are still a few games coming up in the league though, so we will continue to fight for the points and end the season positively.”
