Radhi Jaïdi is well aware of the test Southampton Under-23s will face when they take on their Manchester City counterparts this evening.

Saints travel to City’s Academy Stadium knowing that three points will ensure their Premier League 2 status for next season.

“It’s the last opportunity for us to finish this fight,” started Jaïdi.

“As I have said before, we see it as a good experience for our young boys who have been working hard towards their objectives.

“It’s really important that we are ready for this game, in all aspects, and try to make things happen in terms of winning it.”

Jaïdi’s men are currently ninth in the Premier League 2 table, whilst City sit second behind league leaders Everton.

Though he is keen for his players to focus on their personal performances rather than the league standings ahead of match.

“We always focus on ourselves,” Jaïdi continued.

“Both collectively and individually, it is important that we perform and focus on ourselves and our roles ahead of this game.

“It is a big challenge in all aspects. Mentally we need to be strong and resilient and physically we need to stand up to any challenge on the night.”
