Under-18s assistant coach Danny Butterfield has tasked his young squad with maintaining a level of consistency after two positive results against Man City and Norwich in recent weeks.
The Staplewood Campus will play host to Swansea City this afternoon, where a win would see Saints gain ground on their opposition in the U18s Premier League standings.
Butterfield commended the spirit of his side entering the fixture: "Coming off the back of the Man City game, and followed up by the Norwich performance, the squad can take confidence.
"The boys have been in a buoyant mood in training and let's hope they can take that in to the Swansea game.
"We've spoken all week about being more clinical in front of goal, decisions which stretch the opposition's back four across the pitch and in behind.
"They've been focused in training, we need concentration and composure in front of goal to convert chances in to goals."
The visitors enter the tie in mixed form, having suffered a heavy defeat to Chelsea, but edging out West Ham in an impressive away win a fortnight ago.
Saints drew with Norwich in their previous outing, where Michael Obafemi overturned an early deficit to earn a 1-1 draw.
"We've made big strides since the beginning of the season," the former Southampton defender added.
"It is a case of finding some consistency now, which is key to piecing it all together.
"You don't know from one week to the next what kind of side any given club will field, the form and consistency of team selection is hard at this level.
"We won't look too much in to previous results, but we'll be looking at their strengths and weaknesses on videos - and hope we can exploit those."
