Embarking on their final Under-18s Premier League fixture of a very successful campaign, Craig Fleming has urged his youngsters to enjoy their season finale away at Swansea tomorrow.

Saints will end the campaign in third place, irrespective of the Swansea result, a feat which the coaching staff feel is testament to the hard work and promise of their young players.

Assessing the year as a whole, Fleming has emphasised the positivity of their highest league finish in seven years, while also praising the youngsters who have earned their first professional contracts.

"It'll be nice to finish the season off with a win," he began. "Obviously finish on a high, and that'll be nothing short of what the boys deserve - to typify how good they've been throughout the season.

"There is part of me that thinks we could have even reached higher in the league, a few games where we weren't clinical enough, or had a bit of bad luck. But overall I'm very pleased.

"To finish third, eleven out of fourteen lads with pro deals, Michael [Obafemi] making his debut - collectively it's been a very enjoyable season.

"Individual development has been huge across the board. It has been such a positive year, and the boys have worked exceptionally hard with the hours they've put in.

"Next year will be a tough act to follow. The bar is very high. But something to aspire to, because we've got some good players in the first year group. It'll be tough to follow, but we want to replicate this year's success!"
