WHERE DO THEY PLAY?
With a capacity of 61,443, Jiangsu Suning’s home is the Nanjing Olympic Sports Centre Stadium, which opened on 1st May 2005 after being under construction for three years.
The multi-million pound venue was designed by Populous who helped to build Wembley.
HOW DID THEY DO LAST SEASON?
Jiangsu Suning are currently fourth in the Super League, having played 11 games (W6 D1 L4). In the 2017 campaign, Fabio Capello took charge in June after Li Jinyu’s caretaker spell.
WHO IS THEIR MANAGER?
Former England boss Fabio Capello left the club in March of this year following a disappointing start, winning one and losing two of their opening three games.
His replacement was Romanian Cosmin Olaroiu, who led Al-Ahli of the UAE to the final of the Asian Champions League in 2015 where they lost to Guangzhou Evergrande of the Super League.
The boss also has previous international experience, having being in charge of the Saudi Arabia national team.
WHO ARE THE PLAYERS TO LOOK OUT FOR?
Among the more notable players in the squad is former Shakhtar Donetsk playmaker Alex Teixeira, who made the move back in 2016. The Brazilian made an immediate impact on his Chinese Super League debut, scoring twice against Shandong Luneng.
Compatriot and former Chelsea midfielder Ramires is also at the club having joined in January 2016 for a then record fee fee, which was twice broken in the following ten days, one of which was the aforementioned Teixeira.
Making his debut in the same game, he scored the other goal during the 3-0 success before assisting Teixeira.
Former Liverpool defender Gabriel Paletta is also part of the squad.
