Southampton defender Cédric will tonight hope to keep his World Cup dream alive, as Portugal face Uruguay in a last-16 tie.

The right-back played a key role in his country advancing through the group stages, starting each of their three matches, as they finished second in Group B, behind Spain.

That has teed up a showdown with an in-form Uruguay side, at the Fisht Olympic Stadium, with kick-off set for 7pm BST.

Cédric and Portugal, who are bidding to complete an incredible double after being crowned European champions two years ago, will face either France or Argentina in the quarter-finals if they advance, with those two nations meeting in the day's first match.
