Full of confidence after a last-gasp winner against Wolves nine days prior, Radhi Jaïdi has been preparing his young side to face struggling Sunderland this week.
The Black Cats are bottom of the pack after eight games played, but Jaïdi knows not to underestimate any opposition in PL2, with league positions readily changing from week to week.
The Under-23s could jump as high as second with victory today, and Jaïdi is clear about how valuable maximum points could be in the quest for the top end of the table this season.
"There's a lot of positives to take from the Wolves game. One, of course, is the result," Jaïdi reflected.
"There's always areas to develop with the younger boys. How do we effect their conscious - they need to know the key information, but also how to apply it in the right moments.
"I say it a lot, but we must keep working hard and continue to improve in every area. That's how we'll pick up points in this league.
"Sunderland will play direct if we press them effectively. They play a classic 4-3-3.
"It'll be a good game to watch, as well as a good test for our boys. We know what we're aiming for, it's three points and we've prepared well for that outcome.
"I'm hoping we do everything in our power to be at our best, perform well, and get the right result."
