Southampton midfielder Jake Hesketh has completed a deadline-day loan move to MK Dons, the club can confirm.

The 22-year-old has joined the League Two promotion chasers, who are managed by ex-Saint Paul Tisdale, on a deal that runs until the end of the season.

It is a second loan of 2018/19 for Hesketh, who enjoyed a successful spell with Burton Albion in the first half of the campaign.

Dons, who also have former Saint Danny Butterfield on their coaching staff, are currently sixth in League Two and well on course for at least a play-off spot, while they are three points off the automatic promotion places with a game in hand.

The club wishes Jake good luck for the remainder of the season and will continue to monitor his progress.
