Southampton's PS4 and Xbox players were knocked out of the ePL Finals after impressing at the Gfinity Arena in London.

Both had been highly fancied to progress further following some eye-catching performances on the first day of the event which saw them comfortably advance through the group stages.

However, Xbox representative Rusher went out in the quarter final, with his PS4 counterpart Venny making it one step further to the semis.

Rusher was handed a tough quarter-final draw, taking on the top-rated Xbox player in the world, Liverpool's F2Tekkz.

After racing into an early two goal lead, Rusher was pegged back and eventually succumbed to a 6-3 aggregate loss.

For the PS4 quarter final, Venny was pitted against the only remaining unseeded player in Cardiff's LukasMcilwee. After conceding early on, Venny came back strong and progressed with a 3-1 win.

In the semi-final Venny came up against KyleLeese_ of Manchester United and looked comfortable having taken the lead in the first leg.

KyleLeese_ battled back to equalise on aggregate and scored a late winner to knock Venny out of the tournament after a lengthy delay.

Despite crashing out, Venny and Rusher earned plaudits over both days of the inaugural ePL tournament on the back of a series of strong performances at the Gfinity Arena in the capital.
