Feyenoord friendly announced

Southampton will be visiting Dutch club Feyenoord as part of their pre-season plans this summer.

Saints head to De Kuip for a friendly on Sunday 28th July, with kick-off at 1.30pm BST, following their training camp in Dublin in the lead-up to that weekend.

The clubs last met in the summer of 2015, when Southampton won 3-0 in Rotterdam, thanks to goals from Graziano Pellè, Maya Yoshida and Juanmi.

International round-up

There was a positive weekend of international action for Southampton’s players, as EURO 2020 qualifying continued.

Jan Bednarek played the full game for Poland as they won 1-0 away to Macedonia, while Pierre-Emile Højbjerg scored for Denmark in their 1-1 home draw with Republic of Ireland.

Elsewhere, Stuart Armstrong came off the bench for Scotland, as they won 2-1 at home to Cyprus in Steve Clarke’s first game as manager, while Mohamed Elyounoussi was an unused sub in Norway’s 2-2 draw with Romania.

Youngster Josh Sims also featured from the bench for England Under-20s, as they were beaten 2-1 by Chile in the Toulon Tournament.

International fixtures continue

There is still plenty of international action ahead for a number of Southampton players, with Højbjerg, Bednarek and Elyounoussi all facing further EURO 2020 qualifiers tonight, and Armstrong tomorrow.

Angus Gunn will also begin his Under-21 European Championship campaign with England next week.
