Sofiane Boufal, on as a second-half substitute, played 32 minutes of Morocco’s 1-0 victory over Namibia in their Africa Cup of Nations Group D opener.
Morocco were favourites ahead of the tie, but there was no score until the 89th minute, when Hakim Ziyech whipped a smart ball into the area, which was misfielded and inadvertently turned into his own net by Itamunua Keymuine.
Two years ago, the Atlas Lions were beaten in the quarter-final stage of this competition, but will hope for an improved campaign this time around having opened the tournament with a confidence-boosting win.
They next face Ivory Coast on Friday, 6pm BST.
