Southampton FC Women host Larkhall Athletic in FA National League action this Sunday, looking to make use of a run of three successive home fixtures.
Recent wins over Buckland and Cheltenham at Snow’s Stadium will serve as the perfect preparation for tomorrow’s clash with Larkhall; who Saints have also drawn in league cup competition.
In division terms, Saints are out in front, three points ahead of nearest rivals Southampton Women after six games played, while Larkhall find themselves in fifth.
“The work off the pitch is really paying off,” Head Coach Marieanne Spacey-Cale said.
“What we’re talking about in debriefs is being worked on in training, and then put into practise on the pitch, which is really pleasing.
“They’re listening and learning all the time, because we’re by no means the finished article.
“We’ve had a lot of home games recently, which we’ve enjoyed. But it will mean the second half of the season will be full of travelling.
“The crowds at AFC Totton have been fantastic and we’re grateful for all the support. I'd love it to continue."
