Harrison Reed enjoyed the weekend’s standout result, as Fulham ended their five-game winless run in all competitions with a deserved 2-0 home victory over Wigan Athletic.

Second-half goals from Joe Bryan and Tom Cairney sealed the points, lifting the Cottagers to within a point of the Championship play-off places.

Across the pond, Josh Sims was involved in New York Red Bull’s 0-0 draw with DC United, who maintain their one-point lead over Chris Armas’s side in the race to host a home post-season match.

In the English Football League, in-form Oxford brushed aside Gillingham to make it 16 goals without reply in their last five games.

Young defensive duo Alfie Jones and Tom O’Connor were involved in the entirety of the tie for Gills, but ran into an Oxford side on a high, after their midweek Carabao Cup demolition of West Ham.

In non-league action, Marcus Barnes played his part in Eastleigh’s 1-1 tie with Hartlepool.

Fraser Forster and Moi Elyounoussi were also held to a 1-1 draw by Hibernian - bringing to an end their 100% start to the Scottish domestic season.

Forster played the 90 minutes, where Hibs boss Paul Heckingbottom was sent to the stands for kicking a water bottle, while Elyounoussi was an unused substitute.

Mario Lemina was involved in Galatasaray’s 0-0 stalemate with Fenerbahçe in the Turkish Süper League, while Wesley Hoedt was also in action for Royal Antwerp in the Belgian Pro League, as they played out a 1-1 draw with Oostende.
