Young defender Tom O’Connor has extended his loan deal with League One side Gillingham until the end of the season.

The 20-year-old, who captained Saints' Under-23s side before moving to Priestfields in August, has been a regular in the Gills side since linking up with them.

In total, O'Connor, who represents Republic of Ireland at youth level, has made 21 appearances and scored once, helping the side climb up to 11th place in the third tier.

The club will continue to closely monitor O'Connor's progress during the rest of the season, and would like to wish him well for the coming months.
