Saints Foundation: When Iwan met Ben

By SFC Media time Sat 29 Aug Saints Foundation

Saints Foundation ambassador Iwan Thomas caught up with young SaintsAbility participant Ben to see the progress he'd made in the two years after they first met.

Back in 2018, Iwan was introduced to the then eight-year-old at Staplewood Campus after Saints Foundation's SaintsAbility programme had helped Ben, who is visually impaired, come out of his shell through the power of football.

They reunited at Oasis Academy Lord’s Hill, where the Foundation have been holding SaintsAbility sessions as part of their Community Hub project in response to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Mike Pink, Saints Foundation’s SaintsAbility Project Officer commented: "Ben has come on leaps and bounds in the last two years. He is much more confident, his footballing abilities are improving, and he is, as always, a really valued member of our team, especially at the Para Football Academy."
