Southampton Football Club is pleased to announce that young goalkeeper Jack Bycroft has put pen to paper on a new three-year contract.

The 19-year-old, who has already completed a decade with Saints, has further reinforced his commitment to the club by signing a deal that runs until the summer of 2024.

Bycroft joined his boyhood club at the pre-Academy phase in 2010 and has successfully moved his way through the Southampton ranks, most recently impressing at both Under-18s and B team level.

Alongside training with the first-team goalkeeping cohort, the junior shot stopper has also enjoyed a brief loan spell at local National League side Weymouth this term.

Eager for more senior experience moving forward, Bycroft said: “I’m very happy to extend my time at the club. I feel like it’s the right place at the right time for me now.

“I feel like I can, in these next few years, make some more significant steps towards getting to that first team squad.

“I’m a hungry person and I like to win. I like to gain those opportunities and show what I can do, so whenever those opportunities come I’m going to grab them with both hands.”

Academy Director Matt Hale said: “Jack is another young player who has been in our academy system for many years.

"He is a confident and strong communicator, who has been nurtured really well by the goalkeeping staff over his time at the Club and developed his technical ability to a really high level.

"His recent loan experience in the National League with Weymouth provided him with crucial senior football exposure and tested him in a different way to our B team games programme.

"The longevity of this contract highlights the strength of confidence the Club and Jack have in each others future."
