Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhüttl has revealed Theo Walcott is back in team training as he continues his recovery from injury.

The forward last featured as a substitute in the 8-0 thumping of Newport in the Carabao Cup at the end of August.

One month on, he is back with his teammates ahead of Sunday’s Premier League meeting with Wolves at St Mary’s.

“Theo has this week started being part of the team sessions, but it will also take time until he is on a level to help us,” Hasenhüttl said.

“It’s important to have him back and important to give him training sessions with the team.”

Meanwhile, Stuart Armstrong is still not in contention to play his first minutes of the season, while Hasenhüttl confirmed after the midweek win at Sheffield United that Jack Stephens will be missing for 10-12 weeks with the knee injury that forced him off against Manchester City last Saturday.
