Three Saints stars were in action as Poland netted a late equaliser to hold Scotland to a draw at Hampden Park.

It was an emotionally charged evening in Glasgow, with the players and fans of both sides uniting to show their support for Ukraine.

Ché Adams and Jan Bednarek were named in the starting eleven for their respective countries, while Stuart Armstrong earned a call up in the 76th minute of play as Scotland held a one goal advantage.

The hosts dominated from the early stages in front of a devoted home crowd, though neither side could break the deadlock before the break, despite a couple of opportunities falling for Southampton’s number ten.

The turning point came in the 67th minute, with Kieran Tierney meeting the end of John McGinn’s free-kick from the right to give Scotland the advantage, scoring his first international goal.

Bednarek and Adams were subbed off in the 83rd and 90th minute after putting in solid performances for their respective sides.

Deep into extra time, the visitors were awarded a penalty which saw them draw level in front of a packed Hampden Park,

Poland will be looking to secure their place at the 2022 World Cup on Tuesday, facing either Sweden or Czech Republic in their Path B final.

Scotland will play Austria in another international friendly on Tuesday, after they lost out to Wales in their World Cup qualifier.
