Young Southampton forward Kazeem Olaigbe has joined Scottish Premiership side Ross County on loan for the 2022/23 campaign, subject to international clearance.

The 19-year-old was a standout performer for Saints’ B team last season, earning a nomination for the Premier League 2 Player of the Year award.

Olaigbe, a Belgian youth international, contributed 21 goals in all competitions, including 12 in 23 league outings for Dave Horseman’s team.

His impressive form saw him rewarded with a place in the first-team squad for the FA Cup third-round trip to Swansea in January, before signing a contract extension to keep him at St Mary’s until June 2024.

Now Olaigbe will have the chance to further his development by playing regular senior football for the Staggies, who finished sixth in Scotland’s top tier last term.

The club wishes Kazeem well for the upcoming season and looks forward to monitoring his progress north of the border.
