Southampton will host Monaco in another exciting home friendly this summer.
The historic Ligue 1 club, eight times champions of France, will travel to St Mary’s on Wednesday 27th July (7.45pm BST) as both sides continue their pre-season preparations for 2022/23.
The fixture falls three days prior to the home meeting with Champions League semi-finalists Villarreal, with Saints’ Premier League campaign getting under way at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday 6th August.
Monaco, last crowned champions in 2016/17, finished third for the second successive year last season, ensuring their place in the Champions League qualifiers, and reached the semi-finals of the Coupe de France.
Star striker Wissam Ben Yedder hit 25 league goals, outscored only by Kylian Mbappé, while former Saints loanee Takumi Minamino has recently been added to their ranks following a permanent transfer from Liverpool.
