Young Southampton midfielder Kegs Chauke has joined League One outfit Exeter City on loan for the 2022/23 season.

Making 20 appearances for Dave Horseman’s B team in 2021/22, the 19-year-old was rewarded with a new contract earlier this month to extend his stay at St Mary’s until at least 2024.

Joining from Thatcham Town in 2017, the midfielder signed his first professional contract in 2020 before making his first professional appearance against Shrewsbury Town in the FA Cup in January 2021.

Having recently impressed on trial with the Grecians, Chauke will have the chance to further his development by playing regular senior football with the Devon outfit, who earned promotion from League Two last season.

The club wishes Kegs well for the upcoming season and looks forward to monitoring his progress throughout the campaign.
