The Southampton Academy takes centre stage in tonight’s matchday programme as SAINTS returns for Chelsea’s visit to St Mary’s.

An extended ten-page feature includes interviews with Academy Director Matt Hale and Saints’ teenage trio Lewis Payne, Dom Ballard and Diamond Edwards, who all made their first-team debuts in last week’s Carabao Cup tie at Cambridge.

Each of the youngsters reflect on that unforgettable experience, while Hale discusses the progress being made in producing players and why the Under-18 and B teams are flourishing.

Elsewhere, Ralph Hasenhüttl and Franny Benali bookend the programme with their traditional columns, with further reflections on Saints’ cup progress on a memorable night for the Academy.

There is the usual look back on yesteryear with the help of club historians Duncan Holley and Barry Webb, while Sam Tighe delivers a tactical breakdown of Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea, and explains why the Blues have endured a mixed start to the new campaign.

As always, to ensure there’s something for all ages, the popular Junior Members quiz gives our younger fans something to get their teeth into at half time and the chance to test their knowledge of their favourite team.

Supporters can pick up their Chelsea programme online or from one of the numerous sellers outside St Mary’s and inside the stadium concourse this weekend, enhancing your matchday experience for just £3.50.
