Southampton Football Club can confirm that young striker, Luke Pearce, has joined Eastbourne Borough on loan for the remainder of the season.

The 18-year-old heads out to experience his first senior loan move, linking up with the Vanarama National League South side until the end of the 2022/23 season.

Pearce joined Saints in 2020 from the youth programme at League Two club Walsall, playing up an age group in the B team regularly in his first year.

This campaign he has featured 20 times for Dave Horseman's side in all competitions, scoring five goals and registering three assists.

Pearce joins Danny Bloor's playoff-chasing side, who currently sit in 8th place in the sixth tier, with only goal difference keeping them out of the top seven.

With the exciting challenge of senior football on the way for Saints' striker, Academy Director Matt Hale commented:

“This is the right time for Luke to experience senior football, and Eastbourne will give him a new and valuable experience and hopefully good game time.

"Luke's qualities and tremendous work ethic will, I’m sure, help Eastbourne and it feels like a good fit for everyone.”

The club wishes Luke well for the rest of the season and looks forward to monitoring his progress.
